The reaction is carried out in a four-necked round bottom flask. The bottle is equipped with a mercury-sealed agitator, a thermometer, a drip funnel and a condenser tube. The condenser tube is connected in series with two glass traps cooled by dry ice with pistons and acetone cold bath, and then connected with a calcium chloride drying tube. All parts of the instrument should be fully dried before assembly, and the nitrogen purge device should be used before the experiment starts. Put antimony trifluoride and antimony pentachloride into the reaction bottle in a nitrogen atmosphere (the amount of antimony pentachloride should make the reaction mixture fluid at the reaction temperature), and put sulfoxide chloride into the dropping funnel. Under stirring, the reaction slurry is heated to 125 ℃ with an electric heating package. Under the condition of keeping heating, the thionyl chloride is slowly added to the reaction bottle, and the drop acceleration is controlled to keep the temperature at 125~150 ℃. After the addition of thionyl chloride, continue heating and stirring for half an hour to make the reaction complete.
The colorless liquid product collected in the trap can be distilled and purified in a glass distiller.
